A couple of months back, Microsoft open-sourced the Windows 10 Calculator app on GitHub in an attempt to allow developers to contribute to the app.
Now Uno Platform has taken advantage of the availability of the source code to port calculator to Android, iOS and the Web. For those who don’t know, Uno is an open source cross-platform that allows UWP apps to run on non-Windows platforms. In a blog post, Uno described the working of the calculator app and also shared the behind the scenes of the app.
The Uno Platform being developed in C#, to be able to support the Calculator on iOS, Android and WebAssembly, some parts of the code needed to be translated to C#. Others needed to be adjusted to be compliant with clang’s C++ 11 support.
